As our yoga class comes to an end, we sit together silently with our eyes closed and bring our hands to our heart in prayer position (Anjali mudra). As I recite my favourite interpretation of Namaste, I feel moved by the meaning behind the spoken words. Together, we gently bow our head as we allow ‘Namaste’ to softly pass through our lips. I am so deeply moved by its divinity a lump forms in my throat and I have goose bumps on my arms. Such is the power of ‘Namaste.’
